How Can Librarians Help

Your MJC librarians can help you with a wide variety of research-related tasks. For example, we can help you:
  • Understand your assignment or writing prompt
  • Define your research topic
  • Find background information to get you started
  • Help you create your research questions to focus your search for information and the flow of your paper
  • Find detailed information from reliable sources to answer your research questions and build a body of evidence for the points you want to make in your paper or speech
  • Learn to format your paper in the style required by your teacher. These are typically MLA, APA, or Chicago styles

All of this help is free and all you have to do is walk in the door!

Meet with a Librarian

Work with a librarian in-person or meet online using Zoom

To work with a librarian in person, you do not need to make an appointment. You can simply walk in during our open hours.

For online appointments, we can schedule 30-minute appointments. You can choose to work with a particular librarian or just choose anyone who is available at the time you need. Once you schedule your appointment, your librarian will contact you with your meeting information.

Click the Meet with a Librarian Online button to begin.
