FAQ

The Question

If I cite a quotation from a person in a sentence and have their name introduce that quote, do I still need to cite them in parentheses

Our Answer

Because you used the author's name within your text, you would not use that name again in your in-text citation. You would need to give the page number where you found the quotation in your in-text citation. I'll link to our MLA citation guide for future reference.
